Join us at 4:30p.m. for our weekly worship at Restoration UU Church, 1314 N. Greenwood Ave., Tulsa.
We post the order of worship online for anyone who wants to access it.
We meet each Sunday at 4:30pm at 1314 N. Greenwood Ave. (a.k.a. the Church of the Restoration). Park and enter on the north side of the building. Dress is casual. We are still a small group, so sitting in the back and going unnoticed is impossible! You might be asked to do a reading or lead something, but you are absolutely free to decline.
Our worship follows ancient liturgical forms but we sing contemporary choruses, gospel songs, and traditional hymms. A typical service consists of Scripture readings (following the lectionary), songs, a time of spontaneous response to the readings (instead of a sermon) and personal testimony, shared prayers, a period of silence followed by confession and forgiveness, and holy communion.
All are welcome to receive communion who can, in good faith and as best as they are able, make the pledge of love that is included in the communion liturgy. Those who do not wish to receive may receive a blessing or may simply refrain from participating. We offer gluten-free bread and grape juice (nonalcoholic). Learn more about our communion liturgy.
There is no designated childcare area separate from the area where the adults are worshiping, because the community needs the gifts that children bring. We do have some toys for younger children, and cheerfully expect that kids may be louder and more active than some adults tend to be.
No ministries, activities, ordinances, roles, or positions of leadership in our community are restricted on the basis of gender, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. In the scripture translations, readings, and other printed material we tend to avoid masculine pronouns for God and masculinizing language for humanity.
Gender-neutral restrooms are available, and there is a wheelchair ramp and ample parking, including handicapped parking spaces. Unfortunately, we do not have a sign language interpreter, hearing assistance devices, or Braille materials available at this time. We hope to improve our accessibility as we get more resources.
